With rise in innovative ways of running electronic devices with clean energy sources, it will not be long when we could power our laptops with solar energy; economizing energy cost and at the same time helping in containing the rise in the carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. Power Gorilla has produced batteries for laptops that when paired with Power Gorilla solar panels can help run the laptop with solar energy. The product has not yet been released for common use but we hope to see it soon.
Laptop computers generally require 50 to 70 watts of DC power at 15V to 24V depending on the make and model. To run a laptop, Power Gorilla solar panels need to produce a significantly high wattage of energy. The common solar panels available can at most recharge a laptop battery with the laptop turned off or slow the drain of the laptop battery if connected to the laptop while the laptop is on. While we are not yet sure about the technicalities of the new Power Gorilla solar panel but it seems to be an improvement over the current ones.
