Portable, low cost, diagnosis device to help poor countries monitor and control malaria, meningitis etc…!

As a remedy, the government plans to develop biosensor chips and hardware for real-time hand-held monitoring technology for detecting diseases like — malaria and meningitis in the field. And, for this it is investing £800,000!

It could eventually not only help doctors make instant and accurate diagnoses, but also be easily made available in these disease-prone poor countries because of their affordable price.

Powered by standard batteries, the device uses the quartz crystal element from a simple wristwatch enabling doctors to make instant, accurate, bedside or in-the-field medical diagnoses from blood or other samples.
