The world is facing blows of water crisis not only due to environmental reasons like drought, but also human-induced reasons – contamination, the biggest concern. Besides that the natural contaminants like pesticides and arsenic create havoc to people’s health, living in the contaminated zones.
You can help solve it yourself by also adding greeneries and beauty in the region with ferns. US-based Edenspace Systems Corporation researchers have discovered a fern — Pteris vittata – long back, as it can suck arsenic out of water. What is needed is proper exploring and exploitation of the fern species to your maximum service.
The ferns can be grown directly in the water, similar to the reed-bed systems currently used to remove organic wastes. Just get together with some of your neighbors and grab some of these ferns. And help remove arsenic from your region.
