Eco Factor: Thermoelectric generator produces renewable energy from body heat.

Perpetua Power Source Technologies has announced that the company has been awarded a contract to develop and demonstrate a wearable thermoelectric generator that can provide renewable energy to power wireless sensors. The device will be capable of harvesting available energy from body heat and convert it into usable electricity.

The device will feature an integrated energy storage and power management system and will utilize the company’s flexible thin-film thermoelectric technology, which offers uniquely higher native voltages at low temperature differences. The device will be engineered to provide sufficient power for a wireless transceiver and will not require any maintenance for more than 10 years.
