Eco Factor: Electric van concept comes as an emission-free solution to inner city transport and delivery needs.
After much anticipation, Opel finally takes the wrap off its much awaited Vivaro e-Concept plug-in electric van at the 2010 IAA Commercial Vehicles Fair in Hannover, Germany. Envisioned as an emission-free solution to inner city transport and delivery needs, the e-Concept is propelled by 111 kW electric motor that delivers 370Nm of torque, which enables the vehicle to for 100 km on a single charge.
In case, your green rider runs out of juice, the range extender engine will provide assistance to take it for up to more than 400 kilometers. The company has mounted the lithium ion battery modules, which can be re-charged on a standard household 230-volt outlet. Since the batteries are stored under the floor, the Vivaro e-Concept plug-in electric van offers 5 cubic meters of storage space and the ability to carry 750 kg of payload.
