Industrial process of producing cement requires a huge consumption of common fuel. To get economic towards fuel-using and a bit of environmental concerned, a Spanish cement company will substitute the 20 percent of the common fuel, with wheel wastes, employed in the industrial process of production.
The post-consumer tyres that are generally headed for a landfill are made to proper use. After recycling of tyres that has stolen the present designing trend, it’s the turn of the cement industry to use it as a fuel.
For the recycling of residual pieces of tires, a team of researchers in the department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) have implemented a system. The experiment has allowed saving by each tyre between 10 and 12 kilos of coal, or their equivalent: 7.5 liters of petroleum. Ins’t it a huge contribution towards the environment?
