You can find it in Valencia community in Edmond, Oklahoma. Yeah, it is the first ‘zero energy’ home built by ‘Ideal Homes‘. However, this environment-friendly home is friendly for one’s pocket. It costs less than $200,000.

This house produces the energy it consumes around the year. It is a wonderful marriage between renewable energy technologies and advanced energy-efficient construction. It may appear disappointing to you that this environmentally friendly house is just a prototype, and you can’t buy it even if can afford that bill.

A zero energy home (ZEH) is connected to the utility grid, but during off-peak time periods, it generates more power than it uses by combining renewable energy technologies with advanced energy-efficient construction. As a result, a ZEH lowers the power demand on its utility provider. It produces about as much energy as it consumes during a year, so it is considered to achieve “net zero” energy consumption.
