Want to decorate your house without despoiling the environment? Sundance Catalog, the retail arm of Robert Redford’s Utah-based Sundance Empire, has just something to materialize your dream – it is a new Prairie Paint that recycles “post-consumer” paints.
Gallons of leftover interior latex paint from decorators and other bulk users are accumulated and are blended into fresh color. The formulation of the color is made in a process that makes the paint less toxic to the environment, the company says.
The Prairie Paint comes in six trend-conscious colors: Hemp, Moss, Sky, Wheat, Wine and Moonlight. A gallon of this eco-friendly color costs $25, one coat of which covers about 430 square feet. 250 milliliters (about half a pint) are also available for $5, or a set of six samplers (one of each color) for $28.
