Eco Factor: Zero-emission tractor to be powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

New Holland earlier showed off its concept NH2 fuel-cell powered tractor in early 2009. The company has now announced that the tractor will appear at the 2010 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa. The zero-emission tractor, which runs on hydrogen fuel cells, emits only heat, vapor and water as by products.

The NH2, which is one of the first hydrogen-powered tractors in the world, uses fuel cells to convert compressed hydrogen to energy that powers the 106hp motor. The tractor has no clutch or gearbox and the user has to reverse the power terminals to go into reverse.
