New eco-friendly, cheaper reservoir-less hydro power technology designed

scatch of the new hydro power technology 9

A new environment-friendly hydro power technology has been developed by Pakistan’s Sarfraz Ahmad Khan. Interestingly, these hydro plants would not require a reservoir for their functioning! It is ideally designed for developing countries as it would be much cheaper to build.

Not just that – its operation and maintenance also are both cheaper and simpler. Expecting to revolutionize hydro power in his country and across the globe, he is currently seeking expert confirmation of his ideas. The technology also helps them run side-by-side in rows.

Watch on how these micro power hydro plants work —

The project-idea is based upon the principal of converting the wild flowing rivers’ potential energy into electrical power without needing to have a huge reservoir.

Unlike the traditional hydro-power generation with two major aspects playing vital role – the water head and the water velocity, in this equipment structure, the maximum output from a river’s velocity is obtained. Thus, it is not just making it water-efficient but also cheaper as very high water head cannot be achieved without huge cost.
