According to Wall Street Journal, General Electric Co. is getting a lot of support from customers regarding the profit being made from eco-friendly products. GE also exhibited some great figures to show its authenticity. By the year 2007, GE is expecting to earn approximately $14 billion from the eco-friendly products with 10% profit annually by 2010. Within the year 2004 and 2006, it has also effectively minimized the greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 4%. On the other hand, growth rate of revenue is approx 21%.

Minimizing pollution and making profit from this concept is undoubtedly the best thing GE is doing. On the other hand, GE is selling turbines to the coal power plants, where carbon dioxide emissions are approximately tens of millions of metric tons annually.

Well, customers of utility industry are not in favor of GE’s effort for reduction in carbon dioxide emission, as it would also reduce the percentage of profit.

GE must also known the benefits and loses, which might occur with this program, before jumping into the so called ‘Ecomagination Program’.
