Eco Factor: Sinks made from recycled rubber tires.
Our so-called ‘car-centric culture’ ends so many tires in landfills, so RUBBiSH comes as a refreshing solution to bid goodbye to the waste tires. Santa Monica-based design studio Minarc has transformed old tires into a stunning sink. What the design studios has done is it has melted down rubber from the tires and the tiny inherent metal fibers that give a tire its road resistance are then formed into a sheet.
The 1/8″ thick easy to clean sheets can simply be stretched over a form to give them shape, resulting in a super lightweight, stylish and eco-friendly sink. The Recycled Rubber Sinks could be available in two standard sizes, single sink measuring at 36 inches wide and a double basin at 5 feet long.
