Micro-CHP: A Metal Plate to Cut Domestic Energy Bills

cutting domestic energy billsJust imagine how it would be, if the country’s energy bills are halved at a stroke, debate on the nuclear issue is settled, and Britain’s Kyoto obligations are met! – that is exactly what Peter Bance, chief executive of fuel cell manufacturer Ceres believes he could do. And that’s all with the help of a thin plate of metal and carbon derivatives.

The plates are typically a domestic gas boiler, and once these are stacked and connected to a power supply, it becomes what the energy boffins call a ‘micro-CHP’! Micro-CHP is a small combined heat and power appliance, — Bance prefers to call it a ‘mini-power station’. Isn’t it cool!
