Eco Factor: Concept car powered by electric motors.
The Maserati Tramontane is an all-electric supercar that has been designed to provide luxury in a sustainable package. The vehicle has been designed by Ondrej Jirec as an electric powered cruiser suited for scenic, winding roads.
The concept car is based on the simple rule of lowering the overall body parts to lower the weight of the vehicle and hence simplify the building process. The aerodynamic shape of the vehicle is complemented by the number of components and body panels which flow from the interior to the exterior.
The vehicle features four layers, the first of which is the main glass exterior surface that envelops the entire body. The second layer is composed of the LED headlights and flows back into the interior to protect the speakers and air vents.
The third layer creates the lower sections of the seats and also carries the taillights. This layer also protects the occupants from both a side impact and a rear impact. The final layer of the vehicle serves as housing for the electric motors and the dashboard, where it hides the motor, frame and all the electronics.
The designer is proposing an all-electric setup for the vehicle, where the front wheels will be powered by a single electric motor setup and the rear wheels will have individual motors for propulsion.
