Eco Factor: Low-emission concept catamaran powered by a diesel/electric hybrid engine.
Marvin the Martin is a low-emission pleasure boat designed by Malvi Architects that runs on a diesel/electric hybrid engine. The 50’ cruising catamaran concept is equipped with 35sqm of photovoltaic panels on its roof, which supply renewable energy to the vessel’s onboard battery system.
Designed with the most advanced technologies available in the field today, the vessel can be powered entirely by its electric engine or the diesel engine or a combination of both. While running on electricity, the vessel generates 30Nm of torque at 5 knots, where as the combination of both the engines helps achieve about 487Nm of toque at 9 knots.
