The Neora Concept made its presence felt at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show. This is a fully electric sedan from Taiwan-based automobile manufacturer Luxgen, a carmaker devoted to making next-generation cars. The Neora Concept has an electric powertrain, well-defined external features, and impressive interior finishing.

The electric motor has a power output capacity of 180kw, which translates into 241hp power and 245 PS torque. That is quite a lot for an electric car! Powered by a 48kWh lithium-ion battery, the electric motor can propel the car from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. The car can hit a top speed of 155 mph! Moreover, it will travel 400 km on a single charge. For an all-electric car, this kind of performance is surprising. The best thing about the Neora is that you don’t have to wait forever to drive it. Charging up the Neora can be done in less than an hour. The battery can get 80% charged within an hour.

The Neora Concept looks very much similar to Hyundai Sonata. Taking inspiration from consumer electronics, the carmaker has fitted a good infotainment system in the car. The car flaunts LED headlights and a glass sunroof. The sun roof of the car is Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC). Dark and light shades of this glass are available depending on how much sunlight the driver wants to let it. The cabin is well defined and beautifully crafted with leather upholstery. The trimmed wooden finishing adds a touch of class. The nine-inch screen that displays infotainment is well surrounded by fine internal features.

Not just the front row, even the second row passengers can view infotainment on the LED screens. The LED screen on the driver’s dashboard has an interactive quality to it. It can interact with neighboring vehicles and exchange information. The display also provides the driver navigation capabilities. The Neora Concept car is yet to go into production. But from what was shown, it is clear that the electric car technology is getting better with every single passing day.
