LED lights running on rechargable batteries

light stick

It may not be the first or one of its kind, but a nice effort anyway. I am talking about the light sticks from Energizer. The next time there is a powercut, you know what to use. These LED lights give off enough lights to work by. What sets it apart from most others of its kind is the fact that it runs on built-in rechargeable battery packs. It cuts down on the load of disposed batteries that the environment is choking under.

They have another special feature too. During normal hours, the light sticks serve as regular lights which can be used on study tables, walls etc. In case of a powercut the On-Demand system prompts the internal battery pack to boost up and provide light for up to 20 hours at a stretch.

Target will sell these light sticks in near future for $24.99 to $69.99.
