Remember I told you about these two blokes in the US who used discarded shipping containers to make cabins? Well, apparently the idea has also traveled down under as well and now an industrial design lecturer at Victoria University, Wellington has come up with his own version of the concept. Professor Ross Stevens upcycled durable shipping containers to build this incredibly chic modular home in a rather unusual cliffside location.
Taking advantage of the exotic albeit hostile spot, Professor Stevens created the very eco-friendly and very durable home in the heart of a steep cliff using mostly reclaimed materials. Of course this meant that he not only saved a load on the construction of the house, but also got a million dollar view that would otherwise have cost him a few limbs and a kidney in the real estate market!
