Eco Factor: Zero-emission concept vehicle powered by wind energy.
While the air-powered cars by companies like MDI are still years away from commercialization, auto designers are thinking about other ways to use renewable energy to propel vehicles of the future. Designer Ippei Iwahara has come up with a concept car that uses the flow of wind as energy.
Christened the Kazaguruma, the vehicle makes the most of the Magnus effect and utilizes the whirlwind effect caused due to spinning of a fan to generate the required forward motion. The designer thinks of making the tires from six identical parts that can be changed if the tire is partially damaged.
