Eco Factor: Biodegradable cover for the iPhone made using “Eco-Pure.”
Manufacturer of cellphone accessories, Jivo, is now trying to green up your iPhone with a new environmentally friendly cover dubbed the Leaf. The cover is made using 100 percent organic resin called “Eco-Pure” injected into a standard TPU case.
The cover feels and behaves like an average plastic or silicone case, but breaks down five times faster when discarded. Jivo also claims that the Leaf will be packaged in recycled materials that are free from glue. The covers will be manufactured in Ireland, where the company will be rolling out 10,000 units a week. The Leaf will be hitting stores in March for an estimated price of £19.99.
