Japan the hub of innovation has come up with another idea and this time the credit goes to manufacturer Sumitomo Electric for giving birth to the super conductor electric powered car, unveiled on 12th June in Osaka. Liquid nitrogen cooled super-conduction boosts this car delivering higher efficiency than the other cars of the kind in the market. They also claim that the car travels 10 percent further than conventional electric vehicles on the same battery. This high priced prototype replaces the regular copper wire with superconducting ones in the engine.
In the near future they also plan to produce motors for buses and trucks. This model is definitely not up for mass production but since the most portable power we can currently create with the sun is electricity it surely seems like a decent option to me.
