The nucleus of ideas, Japan has deliverd to the world yet another sheer brilliance in the form of a bulb shaped fluorescent lamp. It’s a joint venture between Hitachi Lighting Ltd and Seiyo Company Ltd wherein both have readied it in a manner where the bulb can be separated into lighting circuit unit and an arc tube unit. The biggest advantage of the product is its power saving feature, it also reduces the amount of copper used in the lighting circuit unit to 1/5 of that required by the company’s existing bulb-shaped fluorescent lamp.
Having a shelf life of 10,000 hours where the lighting circuit unit can be repeatedly used by replacing only the arc tube unit. Over all the lighting circuit unit has a life of about 30,000 hours and the arc tube can be replaced three times for one lighting circuit unit. Not just this the company is doing everything to impress the consumers by improving the composition of filler gas in the arc tube which makes the lamp brighter as soon as it gets switched on.
The launch takes place this year on 1st of October and will only be available in Japan for the initial six months. Priced at ¥1,500(price may vary depending on the country) at the highest and that for the replacement arc tube unit will be ¥500 or lower. Stringed with so many features this glistening environment friendly product is definitely worth a check.
