Eco Factor: Low-emission vehicle powered by a hybrid engine.

British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar is planning to develop a low-emission vehicle powered by a turbine engine. The company has already received $24million from the British government for the project. The car won’t use the turbine to rotate the shaft, which is either too dangerous to ridiculously expensive, but rather will make use of the turbine as an electricity generator.

Jaguar has teamed up with Bladon Jets to produce a small, super-efficient turbine engine that can fit into the body of the car, while maintaining its profile. The turbine will consume a small amount of fuel to generate electricity, which will then be fed into the vehicle’s electric motors.
