Eco Factor: Inventor designs eco-friendly low and zero-emission vehicles.
An Indian inventor, who didn’t even go to college, has spent all those years in making futuristic vehicles for clean mobility. Assam-based Kanak Gogoi has managed feats that many with all the money in the world haven’t. The inventor has created a compressed air-powered car that lets you travel at a top speed of 120kph without emitting anything toxic from the tailpipe. The car uses a combination of a Maruti Suzuki engine and a 100cc motorcycle engine that runs on compressed air.
Gogoi’s other inventions include a “gravity-operated” bicycle that harnesses the potential energy of the cyclist’s weight on the saddle into a spring, which is later converted into linear motion. Next up is a Solar Car, a hybrid car that runs on solar energy harvested by four solar panels onboard. The solar car can run for 70km on a single charge, after which it goes back to conventional fossil fuel for power.
Some other creations include a regenerative speed breaker prototype and a hovercraft that can hover about 4 inches of water. Gogoi is now contacting Tata Motors hoping to get his Air Car on the streets as soon as possible.
