Hourglass Nightlight to take your nocturnal eco-friendliness to the max!

Many of us always sleep with our nightlight brightening things up for us. But honestly speaking there is not much that the nightlight offers us since we seldom wake up at night and according to a survey, humans take an average of seven minutes to fall asleep after they hit the pillow. This survey shows that in a night we are wasting 95% energy that goes into your nightlight.

Designer Sun-Young Lee wants to refine things with a concept Hourglass Nightlight. The light is powered by the potential energy of the sand particles that stream from top to bottom. No additional wires or switches are required in the concept. Once all the grain is in the bottom compartment the light goes dark and if in the middle of the night you wake up you can just flip the hourglass. Since the grains will only be falling from just a few inches we expect the light to be a slightly dubious one.
