HIVE is a design project all set to take off in Houston, Texas, and the plan is to build a sustainable green mini eco-system that will expand further and create a ripple effect.
HIVE is the design for a community that is going to be built with the help of 486 shipping container units, and that in itself is a monumental favor to the planet, as most of them otherwise would be destined for scrap. The design of the HIVE is filled with inner and outer levels which offer various degree of space and comfort. The first level of building is now all set to begin with 72 shipping units that will be modified and fully equipped with all the necessary basic amenities.
HIVE has derived its inspiration, design and motivation from a team of variedly brilliant artists, engineers and environmentalists who have all put their very best in trying to bring it to life. The community aims to be self-sustained in both food and energy needs by most likely tapping in to solar power.

The project will be completed in four phases and you can rent your “green hub” starting from $300/month. There is also space for offices, restaurants and a whole lot more.
