Heat ‘Batteries’ cut energy use by 50-70%

heating gadgets consume lots of energy

With energy prices soaring higher each day, a gadget that can cut energy used for heating is a welcome thing. And, I am sure no second thought will be given on purchasing a thing that cut this energy consumption by more than half!

Yes, here is such a welcome gadget – a heat storage tank. It can cut heat-energy usage by 50%-70%. Thanks to First Light Energy Ltd. for developing this tank. Following their success in Germany, the company is currently launching its heat tanks in the U.K.

Trefor Evans of First Light Energy Ltd. said, The heat tank is basically a battery for heat.

The thermal properties of paraffin wax are used to capture as much as 10kWh in a storage tank. The tank here used is of dimensions 2x1x1m. While melting, paraffin requires a large amount of heat — which is four times the amount required for melting of ice. Thus, this helps in saving a high amount of energy.
