Greenpeace’s Guide: Environment Vs Technology

greenpeace to better environment

The latest edition of Greenpeace’s Guide to Greener Electronics, published Tuesday, threw light upon the green credentials of consumer electronics companies. Samsung and Toshiba along with Lenovo topped the list owing to corporate environmental principles and recycling policies. Nokia, lost its first place due to poor retract recycling labors in Russia and India. Microsoft is just a place above Nintendo- thanks to company’s poor environmental policies. Panasonic and Philips also found themselves at the rock bottom.

Interestingly, Lenovo deserves praise as it has made substantial progress in the past six months to jump from the last position to the lead spot in the standing. Apple, on the other hand, enjoys an unthreatened last place. Dell, The Hewlett-Packard Co., Sony and Nokia had all far-exceeded Apple in assurance with de-toxifying their electronics manufacturing on explicit agenda. Hope for a positive next year’s list and some serious turmoil in tally.
