Plastics and non-biodegradable materials as we know are the worst enemies to a green environment. Their effects would be surfaced only in the long run. Plastics accumulating underground prevent water seepage thus depleting water in the water table. Although a plethora of biodegradable alternative raw materials are available for plastics, it is practically not possible to ban plastics totally throughout the world. Besides, what about the plastics that are already in use and circulation?
Frank Pringle and Hawk Hogan, of Global Resource Corporation, have come up with an alternative fate for these plastics to be disposed. Apparently, plastics, vinyls, tiers when micro-waved at a frequency of 1,200, they are broken down into carbon black and hydrocarbon gases, which can be burned or condensed into oil that can be used as fuel. This recycler named GRC Hawk 10 Recycler is expected to start operating in February. The best part is the recycler gives out no emissions except that it produces microwaves and fossil fuels to burn. But that is hardly anything and much better than throwing off plastic and other wastes.
