The National Museum of Archaeology and Earth Sciences taking shape currently in Morocco is a unique and fascinating structure that uses plenty of green elements in its design to create the perfect place to showcase our planet’s past. Taking the principles of eco-architecture and improvising on them lavishly, designers archi5 + Omar Kobbité Architectes, have made a series of varying arches for the museum structure. Surely, this makes the National Museum of Archaeology and Earth Sciences in Morocco one-of-a-kind on the planet.

The grand succession of arches used in the design allow for natural lighting, plenty of cool breeze, a chance to link three varied gardens with ease and also an opportunity to tap into solar power. Using photovoltaic panels, the museum structure generates its own power completely. This makes the museum a zero-energy structure and also as a result causes no carbons-emissions.

With rainwater harvesting system to manage its water needs, representation garden, Arab Moorish garden, play garden-all providing tons of green, natural lighting at day and natural insulation to reduce demand on the artificial cooling systems, the entire museum overflows with green solutions and clean energy options.

The various levels of the museum are seamlessly linked to one another and the garden, making the entire structure a visual delight for visitors both during the day and at night. Now, if only more public structures across the globe cared to incorporate half as many eco-friendly features as this one museum building, we would not be worried about the planet’s future so much!
