With the advent of commercialization and mass marketing of electric vehicles in the recent times, their charging power station counterparts remain elusive as ever (at least regarding their locations on the big map). So when one longs to take a cross-country trip on his electric vehicle, he has to tediously check with the authorities or go on a laborious information hunt. But now Google has conscientiously done its bit for the ‘green’ people by incorporating EV fueling station locations conveniently in the Google maps.

The whole comprehensive data regarding these stations is provided by U.S. Department of Energy’s (DoE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). It includes an estimated 7,000 alternative fueling stations along with 600 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) locations in the U.S, shown in the Google Maps. The users, who wish to find the locations, simply have to type “ev charging station” and then click on search. The map of the area with highlighted locations of charging stations will then be instantly and easily presented to them, at a single click.
