Eco Factor: Low-speed vehicle powered by electricity.
Augusta-based golf car manufacturer E-Z-Go is coming out of the greens to green the neighborhood with its first street legal electric vehicle, the 2Five. Meeting the federal government classification of a low-speed vehicle, the 2Five has a top speed of 25mph and will be restricted to roads with a 35mph speed limit.
The vehicle has a 48V AC electric powertrain, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes and an onboard charger. The vehicle comes in two-passenger and four-passenger layouts costing $8300 and $9000 respectively. The 2Five offers a meter that lets the user know the amount of juice left in its batteries. Moreover, the vehicle also features an accessory outlet that provides electrical charge for mobile phones and other portable devices.
