Go ‘green’ with the GCS Radiant’s floor heat panels

Go Green‘ is the latest hype all around the globe. Living green is not a drift, it’s an ethic. Reducing energy costs is one of the main issues with the residential construction and Gary Hydock’s firm, GCS Radiant in Amherst, is on the green way with its radiant floor heat panels that are specially designed to make notable reduction in the heating costs of a home.

How these radiant floor heat panels work?

These have been crafted from recycled products and ask for less construction materials to install than the typical systems. The tubes, which carry the water, run under the concrete slab and radiate the heat through the flooring. Joseph Chimera, a consultant and investor in GCS calls the GCS as an invisible product as everything works out of the sight.

Going green with GCS:

More and more people are now looking for homes with energy- saving features. Jacobs, an area home builder, cited that ‘people are going more toward the energy-efficient package, because they want to conserve energy.’ Jacobs and Hydock have already worked on a home in Grand Island last year that was honored with five-plus stars on a home energy rating certificate from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.

Costs associated:

According to GCS’s approximation, it would make a home owner invest $11,900 in materials for installing a GCS system throughout a 2,000-square-foot house. GCS has added yet another feather to its cap as it has been endowed with $113,000 in funding from Empire State Development Corp (ESDC). We can surely hope for the prices to go down further.

The radiant floor heating panels are certainly amongst the tons of things that one can do to ‘green’ their home.
