We talk about how people across the planet do not recycle enough and how they waste too much as they tend to throw away a lot more than that should be discarded away. Well, you cannot say that for this man. He has been around the recycling folklore for a long, long time and now we bring you the famous “Can Man”. Bill Harding likes to call himself Gene Pool and the world likes to call him Can Man and for good reason too!
For over a decade now, Gene has been making a wardrobe out of stuff that other people have thrown away and deemed as totally useless. The video we bring to you might concentrate on his can suit, but he has made a suit out of almost every piece of crap that you can think of. The can man has made it his life’s motive to create stuff out of waste so as to educate the world about recycling and reusing. While all of us may not take recycling to such crazy lengths, we still can learn a thing or two from this Brooklyn bloke.
Through frequent appearances in the New York area he shows off his suits to the public. His work “Can Man” is a wearable suit created using 500 aluminum cans. Another piece of his work is called “The $uit”. It weighs 52 pounds and is covered with pennies. That is not all that is present in the crazy wardrobe of this maverick designer. He also has suits made out of spoons and forks, bottles and everything that you can think of throwing away. I wonder if he will ever make a suit out of batteries though!
