Gasifiers for hydrogen from ordinary wood pellets

Today all we green minded at Eco-friend are interested about all aspects of sustainable energy, but particularly in projects like gasification that can produce hydrogen as oil prices escalate. Hydrogen has been know for its pros (it burns fast and clean) and cons (it is difficult to ship and store, because it must be made from other fuels, preferably at the point of use). So, while we were looking for green prospects, there were three members of Sustain Jefferson, a Natural Step community, who have built this downdraft gasifier, to produce hydrogen and carbon monoxide (also called syngas) from ordinary wood pellets. I believe that these gasifiers will have a much wider application in the developing countries of the world and hope to see a billion of these in use in the next few decades.
