Earlier we told you that computer giant HP has lived up to its promise and has achieved the 1 billion pound recycling mark. We also told you that the company now plans to recycle another billion pounds by the end of 2010 and the company seems right on track to achieve these targets.

Hewlett-Packard has begun recycling PCs and other products for Chinese consumers and small businesses, thereby, expanding a program that already existed for large companies. The service will allow HP customers to drop products such as computers, monitors, scanners, and printers at service centers in 31 Chinese cities.

After the products are dropped of at customer centers, HP will sort them and then send them for the recycling process that too will be carried out in China. If HP keeps up to its goal of recycling another billion pounds of electronics then it surely will get the company a ‘Green’ status.
