The footwear industry Timberland has decided to serve the environment in a unique manner. Its footwear boxes will feature a ‘nutrition’ label to reflect the footprint they make in creating the product inside. This is stated by Timberland promotional copy regarding its fall 2006 launch of a one-piece corrugated box, and it might be called the ‘eco/envirobox.’

The NH-based The Timberland Co. claim the new one-piece boxes will be made of 100% recycled post-consumer waste fiber. And to add its contribution towards the environment, the boxes will be printed with soy-based inks. And die cuts will help to hinge or lock together. Including a clay coating, these will replace two-piece boxes that had to be glued together.
