ERA Electric Raceabout prototype revealed at the renowned Nürburgring track

ERA Electric Raceabout

An all-electric automobile infused with a classy carbon fiber monocoque chassis and a whopping four electric motors would surely be hard to miss. Well, the media hounds plucked the golden opportunity and did their best to bring some details of the ‘electrifying’ ERA Electric Raceabout prototype, doing its lap practice at the exalted Nürburgring Nordschleife. Designed by Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, this bantam car does pack a fervently ‘green’ punch.

The four motors are juiced up by a 550kg lithium-titanate battery pack at 32kWh. This powerful drive-train imbibes a robust state of specifications in the car. With a continuous power output of 268 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque (nominally), the vehicle can romp from 0-100 km/hr in just six seconds, while the exhilarating top speed is notched up to 200km/hr. And we shouldn’t forget that all of these are achieved in a completely low emission mode.

Coming to the stylish form, the 1700kg automobile comes with a sturdy carbon fiber monocoque chassis, supported by high strength steel sub frames. The low center of gravity suspension design is comprised of double wishbones with adjustable coil-overs. Finally the convenient fuel consumption figure of 2.35L per 100 km (alluding to fuel efficiency) is accentuated by the adroitly designed streamlined form.
