Eco Factor: Zero emission electric vehicles are powered lithium iron phosphate batteries.
Epic is planning to expand its’ realm from water to terra firma. The company has entered into a partnership with Caddo Manufacturing in Vivian, LA to make electric vehicles. Last week San Diego-based, Epic released a proto-type of its first two land vehicles, a topless road going three- wheeler with seating for two called the Torq and an off-road ATV named the Amp.
Both the vehicles use lithium iron phosphate (LiFePo4) battery packs developed by Flux Power. The Torq’s battery pack holds between 24-30 kWh of energy and Amp is powered by 14.4 kWh battery. While the Torq is said to offer 200hp, the Amp puts out 54hp giving a top speed of 50 miles per hour.
The company plans to hire around 200 people and hopes to create almost 500 positions altogether.
