Enova Hybrid system powers the World Cup Soccer Tournament’s fuel cell-powered buses

Fuel cell powered vehicles are introduced at the World Cup Soccer tournament in Germany. Thanks to Hyundai, — the official sponsor of the World Cup Soccer tournament through 2012 — as it has also introduced two Hyundai Tucson for the Soccer tournament.

Enova Systems’ Hybrid Drive components are currently being used in these buses meant especially for the World Cup. Its 240kW Induction Motor and High Voltage Motor Control Unit are used in addition to its 80kW Induction Motor and Control Unit used i the Tucsons.

For transporting the 32 teams, the fleet of these hybrid eco-friendly vehicles is deployed within the 12 Host Cities and the 32 Team Base Camps, the match officials, FIFA and Organizing Committee (OC) delegates, and official visitors.

Mike Staran, Enova’s Vice President of Marketing said,
