Eco Factor: Concept car runs clean on electric motors.
The GRIDCharger by designer Robert Marvin is a next-generation high-performance family vehicle that features a clean and silent operation, running on four electric motors. The vehicle seats four in a diamond pattern and has supercar aerodynamics and performance to offer a fuel-efficient, low-emission ride.
The concept comes with a steam turbine that runs at constant low rpm to top up the vehicle’s onboard batteries and also provide power to its four in-wheel motors. The motors are also equipped with a regenerative braking mechanism to recharge the batteries whenever the brakes are applied.
The water tank for the steam turbine is spinally mounted aft of the rear seat, providing structure and protection for the vehicle occupants, as well as surrounding the boiler. The low-emission vehicle uses a small amount of fuel for long periods of operation and sells power back to the grid or powers your house when it is not being driven.
