E.Coli the dreaded bacteria strain infamous for some serious food poisoning until now might fuel your cars sometime in the future. That’s what exactly a research team from Rutgers University is trying to attain by tweaking the deadly strain to overproduce fatty acids which could then be used to produce bio fuel. The research is vital in the light of growing need to shift our attention from food-sourced bio fuels given the rising competition for land with food crops and into a wide variety of feed stocks including E.Col I and various other micro organisms.
