Eco Factor: New biological method controls pests without using harmful chemicals. This year’s Bloom Flower Show will feature the introduction of a new biological method of controlling pests. The inventor of the idea, Dr. Abdul Al-Ami, calls it “SuperNemo.” According to Dr. Abdul, it can be applied to get rid of a variety of insect species in different parts of world. It is mainly composed of specially prepared microscopic nematodes. One more benefit of using SuperNemo is that it will destroy only targeted insects without producing any chemical byproducts. Further, the absence of chemicals ensures protection against intoxication of soil that most of the time causes ill effects on wildlife, earthworms, bumblebees, pets and children. In Dr. Abdul Al-Ami’s own words:
I make them work harder by encouraging competition between the different species. It’s a competition between the different species of nematode for the food source.
In simple words, a species that doesn’t eliminate a particular insect will itself be eliminated and the nematodes that target all insects win out over the others. Further, it can be applied in any part of world, as it can be prepared by using local nematodes. This also prevents intrusion of foreign species into a particular environment. Many countries are ready to give a warm welcome to this environmentally-friendly product. All seem to agree with the idea of dealing with nature with nature. The product is expected to be available for both commercial and home use very soon. Via: TheEpochTimes
