Eco Factor: Toilet converts human waste into clean compost.
In a bid to conserve water and make your home as environmentally responsible as possible, Sun-Mar has launched the Excel Composting-Toilet, which uses no water and converts waste into useful compost. The high-capacity electric bio-drum that the toilet is equipped with evaporates all liquids and promises odor-free operation.
The self-contained unit can be fitted in any residence, even those without a septic tank. The toilet comes with an attached 2-inch vent that can be installed invisibly by running it through the wall to the outside. The vent connects the toilet with the bio-drum, which is installed at any preferred location. To aerate and mix the contents well you can just rotate the drum periodically and open it once a month for clean compost.
The Dark Side:
Instead of using water, the system depends on electricity for operation. Undoubtedly, water conservation is high on an average environmentalist’s list, but doing it at the cost of electricity is just the same thing.
