Eco Factor: Sustainable restaurant equipped with ChargePoint Station.

McDonald’s has taken a lead to become the first fast food chain in the U.S. to offer electric car recharging at its new restaurant located at 1299 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary. The restaurant will be using a ChargePoint Station to recharge the electric vehicles its customers. ChargePoint is a private fee-based network of charging stations and it’s the first time the station has been installed at a restaurant in U.S.

In addition to charging your EVs, the restaurant’s building will be registered with the U.S. Green Building Council for LEED. The restaurant will also offer an interactive component for educating customers about the building and the green features and systems installed in it.

The building will make use of solartubes to allow it to be illuminated by 97% natural light, LED lighting fixture to reduce energy consumption and use of renewable materials like bamboo.
