Eco Factor: Conceptual watercraft powered by wind energy.
Designed by Mathias Koehler, the Nereus is a wind-powered conceptual watercraft that uses a power kite to harness wind energy and propel the watercraft across the waves. The designer estimates that the watercraft will be able to achieve relatively high speeds on and under water.
The control element of the Nereus is pivot-mounted, so it can be aligned accordingly to the position of the kite or wind direction. Simply changing the position of the fins with the controls provided along the footrests will change the ascending force and hence enable you to submerge for a short period of time.
