Eco Factor:
Uses foils under the hull of the vehicle, which reduce water and noise pollution and give a quiet and clean ride.

The FoilJet MR1, designed by Matt De Bellefeuille, is a very unique concept vehicle on water that gives you an awesome ride and helps reduce water pollution. Large man-made sounds are as much a threat to marine life as solid waste that is dumped into the oceans. The electric powered FoilJet ensures that it gives you an adventurous ride on the waves without too much noise. The FoilJet uses a very unique technique in which foils located under the hull of the vehicle act as wings that propel the vehicle completely out of the water. The vehicle moves on the propulsion of the foils, which appear to put it on stilts.

This reduces both noise and pollution. The electric vehicle is propelled by an engine that is all electric and can go for good three hours after a 10-minute charge. This also rules out the risk of any oil spills in case of an accident. With safety features such as a simple switch to shut the engine down and wonderful style, the FoilJet is an eco-delight at $15,000. The innovative foils also have a speed gauge that tells you when to turn them off as you enter shallow water.

The Dark Side:

Irrespective of all the precautions taken, such adventure sports do end up causing damage to the marine ecosystem. Considering that the foils are ineffective in shallow waters, it still does not solve the problem of such speedsters in shallow water lagoons.
