Eco Factor: DIY solar module generates 400W.
Armageddon Energy has developed an affordable way to convert your roof into a renewable energy generator. Named “Clover,” the system includes a set of three hexagonal solar panels, a micro-inverter and a triangular frame which eases the installation process. Collectively the system generates about 400W of green electric power, which can be increased by adding more Clover systems.
The system can easily be mounted onto a rooftop by first fixing the triangular frame and then attaching the panels on the system. Once wired the system starts to generate electricity for your home. Armageddon Energy states that the overall weight of the $6,000 system has been reduced by replacing the heavier glass on the panels with lightweight Teflon coating from DuPont. The company plans to ship commercial volumes about a year from now.
