Eco Factor: Low-emission concept scooter runs on a hybrid engine.
After making waves at the 2008 Paris Motor Show with the HYbrid3 concept scooter, Peugeot has stunned the auto world yet again with the HYbrid 3 Evolution concept scooter that was showcased at the Milan International Cycle and Motorbike Show.
The scooter delivers 36KW of power and is expected to get 118mpg while emitting just 48g/km of CO2. The roofless scooter is a much higher-powered version of the HYbrid 3 scooter and comes with electric motors in each of its two front wheels, which are complimented by a naturally aspirated engine at the rear.
The 3KW electric wheel motors are powered by lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged by an onboard regenerative braking mechanism. The concept features a “Stop & Start” system as well that places the engine on standby mode when the vehicle is at a standstill.
