EcoFactor: Energy efficient lights

With the rising cost of electricity and the comparatively low efficiency of the incandescent light, it no longer remains the most desired all-around lighting source for general use. The importance of LEDs and OLEDs is picking up drastically as more and more residential areas, office buildings and clubs are using these for their higher efficiency. These lights are known for using less than 1/8th the power, just in time to help reduce what we are told is global warming. No doubt they are a hit these days!

We all know that the incandescent and fluorescent lamps have been around for a long time, but it’s extremely disappointing to know that they haven’t increased their watt efficiency by any degree since their invention. LED and OLED on the other hand have increased their efficiency by a factor of many dozens. In fac,t this is what’s widening their demand, which has also resulted in lowered cost. The increasing demand for LEDs proves that these lights have started to have more of a mass appeal. OLEDs, on the other hand, are said to be an advanced version of LEDs, but it might take some time for these lights to get more popular among consumers. I am sure if things continue in this fashion, eco-friendly lights will completely take over and be a part of each and every household very soon!

The Dark Side:
No downside whatsoever. In the past the only problem with “green” lights was the high price, but now even that has been taken care of!
